For each of us, the thought of losing a pet is devastating. For children, it is incomprehensible. For their parents, the task of explaining the loss of a beloved member of the family may feel overwhelming. In the rescue community, we describe the loss of a much loved animal companion as going over The Rainbow Bridge we know we will see our furry friends again, we just don’t know when or where. We hope that this information on explaining death to a child will be of some help, and please know that our hearts go out to you at this time.
