Due to the alarming number of phone calls I have received over the last few months about dogs I have adopted that have been found wandering around (often in the middle of the street!) I have a new adoption policy.  YOU MUST HAVE AN ID TAG WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER (CELL PREFERABLY) AND NAME BEFORE YOU TAKE POSESSION OF THE DOG.   There is no excuse for dogs I adopted MONTHS ago to not have their owner’s ID tag on.  What good does it do for someone to call me with your dog when I’m 50 miles away and they need someone to get it NOW.  It’s simply irresponsible and against our adoption agreement to not have your identification on the dog at all times.  So PLEASE…….if you plan on taking a dog home, go to any local pet store and drop a token in the kiosk and have one engraved on the spot.  It’s about $8.00  You can throw it out when you get a fancy one you like better or decide you want your pooches name on it.  OR…you can go right to a key place and have a tag engraved for a couple of bucks.  The tag will be put on your dog at the time we complete the adoption agreement and/or I hand over your new family member to you.
